Paper Dice Games Update

January 7, 2025

Welcome to 2026! I can’t wait to share what’s coming for Paper Dice Games! Some information I can give today, and some will have to wait a week – read on to find out!

Dwarf Mine in Antarctica

Did you know that Dwarf Mine has been played in Antarctica?

I didn’t – not until Joe K responded to the annual survey that was sent out in December to let me know! He was able to travel to Antarctica for a US Science program. He brought a number of games to play including Mansions of Madness, Star Realms – and Dwarf Mine!

This begs the question…has Dwarf Mine been played on all 7 continents? Let me know if you’ve played it outside North America, Europe, and Antarctica!

Annual Survey Winner

I wanted to give a big congratulations to Allan B! Allan won the Annual Survey Giveaway, and is hopefully exploring Blizzard Pass right now!

I also want to give a big thank you to everyone who responded. The feedback was incredible, and has directly impacted my goals for 2026. I’ll discuss these changes and the survey results in more detail in my annual stakeholders report article, which I’ll be writing in a few weeks. For reference, here is last year’s stakeholder’s report.

Newsletter Discount Sale

I have a tradition of giving a discount sale as a thank you for joining the newsletter. This discount sale is ONLY for newsletter subscribers, and is not shared anywhere else. There is no pressure to purchase anything – this is just a way to say thank you, and give you a chance to grab something you may have had your eye on at a discount.

This year’s sale is 20% off all products, ending on Friday January 9th. You can access it at the marketplaces below.

PLEASE NOTE – This discount sale is only for newsletter subscribers. You can subscribe to the newsletter here.

Other Updates

  • Flash Sale – There will be three flash sales in January. To prevent from spamming this email list, I will only be sending reminders through the game specific newsletters for the games on sale (see newsletter links at the bottom of this newsletter). The flash sales will be for:
  • New Logo – I’ve started updating accounts to the new PDG logo! You’ve already seen it at the top of this message. You’ll see it on Youtube as well, the website soon, and other areas PDG has a presence online.
  • Dwarf Mine on the Lone Adventurer – Two months ago, the Lone Adventurer Youtube Channel ran a series of videos highlighting 50 different solo RPGs. Dwarf Mine made the second video! You can check the video out here.
  • Dwarf Mine on Geek Gamers – I have shared a few videos in the past that Geek Gamers has done on their Youtube channel. Even though this video is 4 years old, I just found it! Dwarf Mine made Geek Gamers’ video on Indie RPGs and Supplements, which you can view here.
  • Fantasy Civ Solo and Grim Space celebrated at IDGA Holiday Party – I have been trying to do a better job participating with our local design groups. In December, the IDGA here in Minnesota celebrated games released by Minnesota designers. Both Fantasy Civ Solo and Grim Space: Horror for your Space RPG were included in the holiday celebration! You can check the video out here.

2026 Roadmap

Here is the 2026 roadmap! Everything is listed in codenames, because in a week or two I’ll be announcing the roadmap with a video and dedicated post – stay tuned for that! I can’t wait to share!
