Introducing Apollo Mine
At the start of March, I shared the 2026 Paper Dice Games roadmap. The first release on the roadmap is approaching fast – and it’s a game called Apollo Mine.
Apollo Mine is a mapping game of adventure – but on the lunar surface, instead of in a Dwarf Mine!
That’s right, Apollo Mine was built using the same ideas as the Dwarf Mine game. However, there are additions, expansions, and differences between Dwarf Mine and Apollo Mine that make this (in my opinion) an incredibly fun, new mapping game experience!
Here are some new things to expect in Apollo Mine:
- Radiation – this is a new mechanic that threatens the personnel in your Apollo Mine! You can protect against it by building specialized rooms – or by digging deeper into the surface of the moon!
- Sealing Rooms – have a pesky yet dangerous enemy lurking in the depths of your Apollo Mine? There is a new, space-based strategy to use. You can seal your rooms, depriving the enemy of oxygen. This defeats the enemy, at the cost of the rooms you seal.
- Hallway/Ladder Collapse – this new rule gives limitations on the length of a hallway or ladder, before it collapses.
- 15 New Rooms – Included with Apollo Mine are 15 new rooms, including some twists on concepts from Dwarf Mine.
- 4 Base Level Lists – Similar to Dwarf Mine, Apollo Mine comes with 4 Level Lists to use based on how deep your mine goes – each with fun theming for mining in space! These include new enemies, new discoveries, and new persistent threats!
- 6 Expansions – There are 6 built-in expansions that will be included with the base game!
- 3 Maps – Apollo Mine comes with 3 maps to choose from and play!
I’ll be diving into these in more depth over the next few weeks. To follow along, please join the Dwarf Mine newsletter, as future updates will be sent only to this specific mailing list!

Design and Art
For the first time ever, I’m working with another designer to publish one of my games!
Rhys Turton is the designer and writer for Apollo Mine. If you’re on Youtube, you may know Rhys better as Libidan Cards (previously Lord Libidan)! Check out Rhys’ Youtube channel a subscription here!
Rhys has been amazing to work with and has delivered an incredibly fun game that fits the same style as Dwarf Mine, but feels unique, fresh, and exciting. I can’t wait until you can get your hands on Rhys’ Apollo Mine design!
For art, I’ll be working with the amazing Mac Teg again! Mac’s art has already been showcased in both Distress Calls for Space RPGs, and Grim Space. We have a super fun concept for the cover of Apollo Mine, and I can’t wait for you all to see it!
Tentative Release Date
Apollo Mine is tentatively scheduled to be released on Tuesday April 14th.
There are several tasks that still need to be completed, including small updates, proofreading, and art completion. However, I’m fairly confident we’ll hit that Tuesday April 14th date! You can stay up to date by joining the Dwarf Mine Newsletter here!
Again, please consider joining the Dwarf Mine Newsletter to get updates on Apollo Mine over the next few weeks.
Thank you for being a fan of games!
