Grim Space Announcement – and Mayday Sale

Distress Calls for Space RPGs Mayday Message

I am incredibly excited to announce my next sci fi game book – Grim Space!

Grim Space is a collection of hand-crafted unique encounters, creatures, adventures, and happenings to add some horror to your space RPG!

If you’re a fan of Distress Calls for Space RPGs, you’ll love Grim Space!

In fact, you can check out a sneak peak at one of the encounters from Grim Space, which is included in the new (as of today) updated 1.2 version of Distress Calls for Space RPGs. It’s on sale as a part of our Mayday sale right now!

You can also join a Distress Calls and Grim Space specific newsletter here, to learn more about Grim Space as it continues through development!

What is Grim Space

I love Traveller. I love the vibe of Mothership. So a few months ago, I sat down to do some dark brainstorming and see if I could come up with more ideas for a horror-based Distress Calls for Space RPGs.

After the brainstorm, I realized that I had tons of fun, horrific ideas. However, most ideas weren’t specifically distress calls. I had ideas for space-crazed creatures, encounters that didn’t involve a distress call, adventure ideas, and more. So, it was through this brainstorm, that the idea of Grim Space was born.

Similar to Distress Calls for Space RPGs, Grim Space will include 30+ hand-crafted, unique scenarios that work with many space RPGs like Mothership and Traveller. However, it will be more than just distress calls. Each scenario will be dripping with a horror theme, and will include:

  • Creatures
  • Encounters
  • Adventure Ideas
  • Locations
  • Items
  • And more!

Timeline for Grim Space

Despite the Microsoft Publisher challenges on the horizon for me, I still think I can get Grim Space published and available for you all near the end of the year (quarter 4). Ideally I would be able to release around Halloween. But there’s a lot of work to do still, and I don’t want to pick a date yet.

The graphic design is mostly done and brainstorming is quite far along. Up next will be external playtesting/reading, likely to occur sometime this summer, and possibly the art order.

After that, it’s a lot of design, development, and publishing work.

The timeline here is a positive one, and I’m very excited to dive in (after my current project wraps up in the next month or two).
